Canal Campo de Cartagena

The source of the Cartagena Canal is La Pedrera reservoir, at a height of 75.00, ending at La Guía road, near Cartagena, and it has a total length of 64.28 km.

Campo de Cartagena Intake Canal

With a maximum flow of 25 m³/s until km 4.3 where it changes section and its flow is reduced to 18 m³/s.

Entrance to Vistabella Tunnel

At km 40.28, the section changes again, and the flow rate increases from 18 m³/s to 12.68 m³/s. A few kilometers from the end of the section, the Fuente Alamo drive is located.

Cross-sections of Campo de Cartagena Canal

With a maximum flow capacity of 4.64 m³/s, it has six pump sets with a total power of 750 kW. Four of these sets can lift water from level 65 to level 165, at which point there is a reservoir with a capacity of 0.25 hm³. The other two pump sets reach level 135.00, where another reservoir with a capacity of 0.15 hm³ is located.

From the Fuente Alamo outlet, at km 55.63, the section and flow rate change again, going from 12.68 m³/s to 10.26 m³/s, maintaining this capacity until the end at km 64.28.
