European drought observatory

The European Drought Observatory (EDO) provides information on droughts at form of drought indicator maps derived from different data sources (eg precipitation, satellite information, soil moisture). A series of tools available in EDO such as "Graphs" and "Compare Layers" allow analyzing and comparing information at temporal and spatial level. The publications available in "Drought News" collect information about droughts that are occurring or occurred in the past.

EDO is based on open architecture web services with the aim of connecting different providers of information on droughts at continental, national, regional and local levels. Likewise, the Joint Research Center of the European Commission (JRC) collaborates with different institutions in Europe including the Segura Hydrographic Confederation.
